Why I Love My Ipsy Glam Bag Subscription

I have been receiving Ipsy Glam Bags for 6 months now and am in love with my Ipsy Glam Bag Subscription. Let me tell you why.

I am embarrassed to say that I had been holding onto my makeup from 2009/2010. It was only up until a couple of months ago that I got rid of them. Don’t ask me what made me hold onto those products that long. Sure, you can call me a hoarder because I am that way about a lot of my items. I would use the same tube of mascara for 6 months to a year. You can judge me. I know. I told one of my girlfriend’s that I still had the same foundation and eye shadow from my high school senior prom. She looked at me and said “how are you going to be an influencer and you’re using old products”? That was the reality check I needed. Luckily, I had just subscribed to Ipsy. I knew that I had made the right decision then.

FUN FACT: Did you know that every beauty product has how long the product is supposed to be good for until it should be thrown away? Next time you look at one, look on the back and you will see a jar with a number next to an M after it. This is called the “PAO” or period after opening. It may say 6M, 12M,etc. This just means you should dispose of the product after 6 months, 12 months, and so on. Thanks Sweet Tee. You’re welcome.

How it Works

Ipsy provides a “Beauty Quiz” where you answer questions about your skin tone, skin and hair types, brands you already use, product interests, etc. Then, based on the quiz, Ipsy personalizes your Glam Bag with product recommendations. When you agree, Ipsy takes $25 out of your account monthly. Every month, an email is sent out and you are able to choose two, or sometimes more, products for your glam bag that month. You can see which products will be sent to you. Then, you just sit back and wait for your bag to arrive! Simple.

Who Can Benefit from Ipsy Glam Bags?

People like me. I subscribed to receive a monthly Ipsy Glam Bag after realizing that I had no clue where to begin when searching beauty products. I am not big on makeup, mainly because my skin is very sensitive. However, I love lip products and mascara, which I have been receiving in EVERY glam bag that I have been receiving. I also receive eye shadows, brow products, skin care products, and other things that I don’t normally purchase. I am open to receiving new products, especially skin care products, because I AM SICK OF wasting my money on products that are going to break me out. My subscription makes me feel more comfortable because I only spend $25 on not one, but five FULL SIZE products. If I only like 2 out of the 5, I don’t feel like I’ve wasted my money. If I can’t use a particular product, I turn it into a gift or pass it off to one of my family members or friends.
